Markay Gallery: Rose | Marietta Square Art Walk Photos
Although the Marietta Square Art Walk was cancelled for the month of May because of rainy weather, that didn't stop Marietta's newest art venue from putting on a show. From the color to the flower, Markay's ROSE was in full bloom with its stunning displays and tasteful furnishings.
Every month, Markay Gallery hosts a First Friday art show with a different theme featuring new artwork and a fresh experience for art lovers. The next show, which will take place on Friday, June 2 from 5 - 9 P.M., is titled “Guys & Dolls”, and will feature a blend of feminine and masculine styled art. Here's what's to come:
In the Upper Gallery:
Fairhope, Alabama artist, Kelley Ogburn will debut her soft palette and fluid style of blending illustrative lines with a loose, painterly brush. Kelley captures the anticipation of ballerinas behind the curtain, the quietness of peaceful solitude with her figure work, and the softness of flower petals with her flora paintings. Enjoy Kelley’s work with an artful wine pairing.
In the Lower Gallery:
Visitors will immediately notice the more masculine feel that resonates in the lower gallery. Artwork perfect for any “Man Cave” takes center stage. From pub tables encased in tools and gears, to paintings in darker hues, artists share work meant to convey a rough and rugged feel. Indulge yourself with a crisp, refreshing beer, chilled and ready for this fun night.
